Item Description

Prehistoric Cliffside Petroglyph Engraving

8 Inches Tall, 6 Inches Wide, 1/2 Inch Thick, 500 Grams. This is NOT a Tourist Trinket, this is an Authentic Indigenous (Original) People Pre-Classic Sand Stone Petroglyph Engraving (Fine Antiquity/Ethnographic Art). Similar Pieces at Select Auction Houses sell for Thousands of Dollars (and sometimes tens & hundreds of thousands of dollars). This piece of real American Southwest Sacred Tribal History is Ancient and comes from the Private Collection/Estate Sale of an Archeology Professor from Michigan State University in Lancing Michigan. Pre-Columbia, American Southwest Territories, Indigenous Peoples, Pre-Classic Period. This is a RARE hard to find Ancient Artifact that was excavated on an archeological dig in the early 1900’s (it is illegal to privately do so now). This historic treasure belongs in a museum.

Ancient peoples engraved these petroglyphs on cliff walls, in Pueblo sites and where ancient hunter-gatherer party’s camped. Although the exact nature of their original meaning and function cannot be known for sure many archeologists believe they had ritual spiritual, religious or funerary significance and that they might have been messages to other tribe members sharing information about a valuable hunting ground, or marking their territory, or leaving a spiritual mark. This is a revered window into the cultural and artistic souls of people who came before us. This slate was found in the the American Southwest where ancient history seems to whisper and canyon walls are eternalized with prehistoric mythopoetic rock art. These unique, obscure, haunting etchings of snakes, concentric circles, depictions of desert bighorn, elk, and *odd, mysterious figures that seem only to inhabit dreams can be found in silent stories carved in stone. Considering the strange appearance and out-of-this-world nature, it is no surprise that some of these strange petroglyphs have been proposed as being evidence that ancient aliens once visited earth and were then depicted by the awestruck ancient people living here. This is. Prehistoric Masterpiece. Gallery Price $5028.00.
