Item Description

Huge Antique Rosetta Stone Museum Exhibition Replica

10 Pound (4200 Gram) High End Alva ROSETTA STONE Replica Professionally Made for a Museum as an Official Exhibition Display Piece in the 1960’s. 10 Inches Tall, 8 Inches Wide, 2.5 Inches Deep. Have the origins of Egyptian hieroglyphs in your hands. These Rare Professional Reproductions are Highly Sought After and in this condition generally sell for a Thousand Plus Dollars. If you love ancient languages, History, Archeology, Etc then you definitely want this Antique Professional Rosetta Stone Reproduction. Now you can follow in the footsteps of Jean-François Champollion, who for the first time in history deciphered the Egyptian Hieroglyphics with the help of these exact inscriptions, which he found on this artifact in 1822. The three identical content inscriptions on this stone made it possible, that so for the first time Egyptian Hieroglyphs could be directly compared with known Greek writings. When scientists like Georg Zoëga, Johan Åkerblad, Silvestre de Sacy and Thomas Young identified the demotic part of the inscription as "alphabet", they paved the way for Champollion´s deciphering of the hieroglyphs.
High-quality handmade replica from colored cast material including a rear mounting faculty for hanging on a wall or displaying on an easel. The Rosetta Stone is inscribed with three versions of a decree  issued in Memphis Egypt in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic Dynasty on behalf of King Ptolemy V. The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using Hieroglyphics and Demotic  scripts, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek. The decree has only minor differences between the three versions, making the Rosetta Stone key to the original deciphering of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. This is a SERIOUSLY COOL piece of world History.
