Ashton Drake "The Grace of the Romantic Lady" Porcelain Doll
"The Grace of the Romantic Lady" porcelain doll, from the Parade of American Fashion collection, by costume designer Mary K. Stevens and sculptor Arlene Siegel, bears the hallmark of the Eddwin M. Knowles China Company and produced by the Ashton-Drake Galleries. Oval face, blue eyes, chestnut hair center parted and side curls, known then as "spaniel's ears with the rest in a coil at the back. Fabric roses and ribbons match her dress. She wears a floor-length taffeta gown in periwinkle blue, off the shoulders, and features three-quarter length sleeves with pleated ruffling. It has a slenderizing pointed waistline, and a gathered bell-shaped skirt with ruffled flounces at the hem. Beneath the gown she wears pantaloons and lace-edged crinoline. She stands approximately 18" tall. Comes with certificate of authenticity numbered 2077A, wrist card, original paper work and box.
