1894 Case Eagle Globe Cast Iron Statue (Old Abe) 60” tall (133-10)
Confirmed to be Authentic
This type of statue was created for official Case Dealers to draw attention to their business locations, and these statues did so from 1894-1969. It is cast iron, in three pieces. The front and back are bolted together and sit on a three legged base. There were less than 1,000 of these cast iron eagle-perched-on-a-globe statues ever made, and that number has fallen significantly since then.
In 1969 Case wanted to modernize their logo, so they asked each of the dealers to return their eagle statues. Only a fraction of the eagles were actually sent back, but the ones that were sent back were raffled off to key employees.
This specific “Old Abe” still has the original paint and is in one of the best conditions of all the un-restored statues of it's kind. It stands on its own completely.
